The Eldritch Easter Egg  by Loren and Jordan Behold, the Eldritch Easter Egg, our hybridization of two of our hollow forms. Together we combine two radical forms to an even more extreme form.  Below are the concepts we each made and chose from. My Preliminary Concepts: Jordan's Preliminary Concepts: Choosing which forms to blend was difficult, mostly due to the fact that our forms were already so complex on their own. This meant we had to break things down and, after trying out some different ideas, discuss which direction we wanted to go. We both expressed our desire for a dynamic form that pushed both the boundaries of our 3D modeling abilities and the capabilities of the 3D printer itself. While Jordan valued the dynamicism and depth within the object, I was more interested in taking a more calm and symetrical approach.  My Mesh Mashups Introduction: Introduction: From the beginning of the project, I knew it was going to be challenging as I was introduced to two concepts (remix culture and juxtaposition) I wasn't too familiar with before this project. After taking what I learned from class and doing some extra research, I was able to get a better understanding and therefore apply it to the project itself and what I wanted the theme to be. Remix culture involves the blending, repurposing, and reinterpretation of existing design elements to create new and innovative ideas and products. Knowing this, my mind started coming up with all sorts of ideas. However, I couldn't just have random objects put together, as that wouldn't fulfill the requirements for this assignment. 01. Objectified: Response

Thoughts: So going into this video, I knew little about design and the process that professional designers go through to make the everyday objects we use. Going through the video, I saw different takes and approaches to the design process as well as the meaning of design itself. What I found really interesting about this is how different designers can have different personalities, beliefs, approaches, etc. while successfully creating essentially the same products. Of course, this does create variety, which is better in most ways for us as consumers, but I do often find myself being more conservative when buying things with greater importance (in other words, sticking to what works) and being more permissive and willing to try out new things when it comes to things that are not as important.
